The Alex Brasserie occupies the first floor of The Alex (lift access), thus affording it magnificent panoramic sea views of Felixstowe's south beach, the principality of Sealand, and one of the world's busiest shipping lanes. This informal but snazzy venue offers fresh seafood, grill and classic brasserie style dishes. Open all day, every day, our a la carte menu is complemented by our weekly set price lunch menu, available noon till 6pm Monday to Friday, and Felixstowe's Catch of the Day on our specials boards. In season, you can see the lobster pot flags from your table.

Whilst we operate an informal "just turn up" policy we do understand that sometimes the reassurance of a reservation is preferable, therefore we do take a certain number of bookings. At busy times we have a greet and seat policy. In the event of a short wait you are welcome to enjoy a drink at the bar tables whilst you peruse the menu.

Father's Day 18th June

It's the day of the year when you can show dad just how much you love him. 
Buying him socks or a tie perhaps doesn't cover it so why not bring him to us and spoil him with a wonderful lunch or dinner with a beer or bottle of wine.

We are now taking bookings. Our full menu will be available along with Chef's specials.

If you can't make it Sunday, then you can always buy dad one of our smart Silver gift cards.
An ideal gift for dad to treat himself at any time. They come with a greetings card and can be used at any Yeo Group venue.

New ....Afternoon Tea in The Brasserie

We now offer afternoon tea in The Alex Brasserie. Available Monday - Friday, 3pm to 5pm (excluding public holidays). The menu includes freshly baked scones, freshly made sandwiches and a choice of teas and coffees.

A lovely way to spend the afternoon whilst enjoying the amazing sea views.

Jazz East at The Alex

Jazz East is a Sunday evening club that brings some of the UK's greatest jazz musicians to Felixstowe.

To accommodate Jazz East, last seating for a la carte food service in The Brasserie on a Sunday is at 7pm. After which we will take orders at The Brasserie bar for the Café Bar menu, bar snacks and of course drinks. (On the occasional Sunday when there is no jazz, the last seating for a la carte food service will be at 8.30pm). Sunday roasts (and bank holiday Mondays)

A choice of 2 classic roasts each week, with Yorkshire pud and all the trimmings, served all day or until we run out!

For larger parties wanting a sit down meal, we offer both a 2 course and 3 course menu, with bottled water and after dinner beverage included. We request that parties pre-select their meals enabling our chefs to prepare your food quickly and efficiently, and our waiting staff to serve you as a group.

We can accommodate parties of between 20 and 75, however, please note, we do not offer private functions, as we are committed to The Brasserie being open at all times to all our customers. To enquire about a party booking, please call 01394 282957.

Lobsters, catch of the day & local produce

Felixstowe lobsters are back in season ! Coming to us fresh and straight from the pots you can see from our windows. Served with new potatoes and leaves, as a half or whole.

Chef is also serving Norfolk crab - look out for this on the specials board.

Local asparagus is in abundance at the moment and will also be featuring on the specials board.

We are currently sourcing some beautiful fresh cod. You can enjoy it either, battered and served with crushed minted peas, chips and tartar sauce or pan fried and served with new potatoes, greens and caper butter.
